Besides the US government, American media shares an outsized portion of the blame for its complicity and blind acceptance of all Israel’s lies over the decades, which of course continues to this day. The ratio of Israeli points of view to those of Palestinians appearing in American mainstream media formats likely approaches 10,000 to 1 by my own personal consumption of news regarding the issue. About 10 years ago I thought I’d have a heart attack when the Boston Globe had an actual Palestinian voice on its op-ed page! Norman’s serious and courageous scholarly reporting over the years has provided me with intellectual course corrections, keeping my understanding of the tragedy of the Palestinian plight honest and true, something quite difficult within an extremely biased American media environment.

Of course he lied. US has never been an honest broker—look at the USS Liberty and our cover-up for a sense of US being beholden to Israel. He lied about Monica, he threw Arafat under the bus, gutted US manufacturing, so much duplicity it’s hard to keep track.
