I love how the Professor is so mortified by what most in these two political parties have done he’s been forced into saying he can’t even do that because that’s how bad what Israel has done is.
He’s Jewish, I dare you to come after him btw and his mother and father were victims of the Holocaust: he knows it when he sees it, better than anyone.
Keep your voice loud and proud sir, I like how you told Epstein “F*ck off” too on that note.
Yes. I’ve been following Norm for 25 plus years. I’ve read his books and I admire your summation of the distinguished scholar Professor Norman Finkelstein’s steadfast unquenchable thirst for true liberation. He nailed it with The Nat Turner uprising.
Thank god Prof chose not to throw his hat in the ring so to speak. He, growing up as a devotee and staunch follower of the Maoist philosophy, he was simply incorruptible. In solidarity comrade.
Yes Elizabeth. With the guidance of Norman I looked up the humanitarian reports and found not one battle recorded by Amnesty international, human rights watch or the Israeli human rights group B’Tselem. This was annihilation.
Well, both political sides have people who are religious extremist in them. And I hate that either one is in control….. more so hamas and Sharia law, or whatever it’s called. Hamas and those like them would love to kill and annihilate all westerners, Jews, and anyone who is not Islamic and following their extreme sharia law. All this extremist fighting is wrong….. but dealing with extremist means the whole free world must hold religious extremist accountable and outlaw the inhumane acts of violence they perpetrate. Stand up and outlaw inhumane religious extremism. Common good and justice for ALL!!
Oh, mate they are open. Didn’t I just say, both sides (to be clear) Zionist and Islam extremist are evil….AND all those who help them do what they do including America and any other countries..
Hamas was finance by Israel and used Qatar to give them a billion dollars to go against the PLO and that is how they won the representation of the Palestinian people and decimate the negotiations of peace deal by the PLO and it is information on the web about it
Ignorant learn more about the oppressed people who have been ethnically cleansed and lost every thing - can you imagine???? Just imagine u being in their place - what will u do?
THAT, that you are spouting, is the kool-aid given to JUSTIFY the genocide. There IS no justification for genocide; and Izrael HAS NO RIGHT to so-called ‘self-defense’.
They are an illegal occupier violating every condition REQUIRED of them as occupiers.
But, I have a feeling you didn’t listen to this amazing lecture putting DECADES of history on the line, which pre-dated 7 OCT.
Netanyahu and the Israeli, who have helped him are responsible for this that’s it the end just like Trump is responsible for that school full of little girls in Iran
The list of déception of that system, can cover thousands of square meters and yet there are institutions organizations and governments and leaders of "the free world" that pay respect to that system, honors it, "build" peace with it. The world is upside down.
Thank you for providing such an amazing insight. The collective west political class is the source of all ills in the middle east and beyond for decades. Until they are defeated they will continue on the same track. They have nothing to offer the world but wars, pillaging, enslavement, death and destruction. Exceptionalism is Fascism and is clearly reflected in the Zionist ideology.
After 75 years of being displaced, arrested and tortured, having their communities cut off from one another, their children kneecapped or shot and left to die because they threw rocks at an armored tank, their mosques desecrated and their homes and crops seized and burned what did Israel expect?
Hamas is not "the resistance." It is a reactionary tool of Israel used to sabotage the Palestinians. Certainly the Palestinians have a right to struggle for freedom. Hamas is the opposite.

A Brief History of the Netanyahu-Hamas Alliance
For 14 years, Netanyahu's policy was to keep Hamas in power; the pogrom of October 7, 2023, helps the Israeli prime minister preserve his own rule
Obscurantist Islamism like the jihadists were creations of colonialism and then imperialism. They shared a reactionary outlook derived from hostility to materialism and Marxism.
It's a long and very sordid history…
Modern Islamism was born as a reaction against secular materialism and Marxism, and it quickly identified with colonialism and capitalism as lesser evils and allies to fight the secularists and socialists.
England started in the XVIII century by promoting fanatical Wahhabism with the house of the brigand Ibn-Saud family mafia to attack their rivals the Ottomans, and to protect their coaling stations en route to India.
Then the Germans and Japanese promoted their own jihadists to try to use against their imperialist rivals.
In 1898 Kaiser Wilhelm II declared himself the "Protector of All Mohammedians” in a bid to use Muslims against their British and French rivals.
In July 1914, the eve of the First World War, the Kaiser wrote in the marginalia of a diplomatic report: ‘Our consuls in Turkey and India ...must inflame the whole Mohammedan world to wild revolt ...for if we are to be bled to death, at least England shall lose India.’
The Japanese built a mosque in Tokyo in 1935 as part of their attempt to woo Central Asian and Indonesian Islamists as they prepared to seize the colony from the Dutch competition, and the Dutch promoted their own Mullahs in favor of colonialism.
The Nazis established Muslim units of the Waffen SS, and declared the Muslims in their service as honorary "Aryans," to use them against the USSR and Britain and France.
In the 1950-70s, the US, Swiss, French, English and Germans employed the Muslim Brotherhood and other jihadists in their espionage services and to assassinate independence fighters in Morocco and Algeria, where French colonialism printed Qurans and established Sufi Islamist death squads.
The West German security forces (top to bottom run by former Nazis) established a Mosque in Munich for the Muslim Brotherhood to coordinate their espionage and promote Islamism as a counterweight to secular organizations among immigrants from Muslim countries.
The U.S. used the Muslim Brotherhood as assassins to carry out hundreds of terrorist attacks on the secular and nationalist government of Gamal Abdel Nasser in the 1950-1960s, and later MB affiliates assassinated the dictator Muhammad Anwar el-Sadat, at their own initiative.
Islamists supported the reactionary monarchies from Saudi Arabia to Morocco, against nationalist, secular and Marxist movements.
The U.S. promoted Islamist death squads in Indonesia that participated in the 1965 U.S. coup and slaughter of 500,000 Indonesians suspected of supporting the Communist Party.
The U.S. put infamous Islamist butchers like Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in Afghanistan on the CIA payroll in the early 1970's and gave him guns to assassinate leftist students at the University of Kabul. And of course starting in 1979 Jimmy Carter began the massive secret funding and arming of the Islamist "Mujahideen" terrorists in Afghanistan.
Likewise the U.S. encouraged the virulent Islamization of Pakistan in the 1970-1990s, created by British imperialism in 1947 as the first Islamist state in the world, and a tool of imperialism. Pakistan pushed by the UK and U.S. became the de facto military enforcers for the Saudi monarchy, helping to suppress several democratic, secular and socialist rebellions against the reactionary Islamist monarchies in Oman and Yemen in the 1950s and 1970s, with terrible consequences of reinforcing Islamism.
From the 1970s onwards, Israel followed the lead of its U.S. boss and helped promote the Gaza Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamists, and in the 1987 creation of Hamas. Like the U.S. government Israel understood that the Islamists could always be counted on to sabotage liberation struggles. And boy did Israel's investment in Hamas pay off, even to the present. Hamas handed Israel the opportunity to carry out the worst slaughter of the Palestinians in history.
From the beginning Islamism and jihadism were tools and mercenaries instrumentalized by imperialism. They were used to kill trade unionists, nationalists, feminists and socialists who opposed the reactionary and obscurantist monarchical puppet regimes that serve imperialism.
As intended by the imperialists, the Islamists retarded social and political development throughout the Muslim world.
…..
Ultimately, however, when the USSR fell apart, the fundamental anticommunist cause that motivated the alliance between the jihadists and imperialism ceased to exist. The imperialists threw their unneeded Islamist and Jihadi assassins to the gutter, and the hitherto loyal attack dogs of imperialism turned and bit the hand of their former masters.
But the Islamist poison so assiduously promoted and spread around the world by the United States and European imperialists for over two centuries, continued to spread like a plague.
An additional factor in the rise of the Isiamists were the innumerable betrayals by Stalinism in the region, from USSR arms for the Nakba and support for the creation of Israel, to opposing national liberation movements in Algeria and elsewhere.
That led to cynicism and a leadership vacuum that the Isiamists occupied.
I have to respect your deep history on this Aaron, but I do wonder whether the "bourgeois Islamist" continued to be the motivating figure in jihad. You even admit that after the USSR fell their purpose fell with it, ie bin Laden launched the 911 response to the capitalist West's oppression of the region.
I have to also respect the right of resistance to the historic manipulation and exploitation of the region as genuine and legitimate, and wonder whether it's leadership didn't continue to evolve out of the tool for Western hegemony it had served as.
I do agree that it was used to undermine what the Western powers were most concerned about, PanArabism, resource nationalization, effective independent governance it's likelihood to align more with the East and it's stated intention to support Pan Arab nationalism.
That's old history now though and I just have to doubt the continuity of the ideological identifications you're saying still define Jihad.
What changed after the collapse of the USSR wasn't the socially and politically reactionary character of the Islamists, but merely the fact that their imperialist masters no longer needed them. The US et al no longer perceived a threat of "socialism" or nationalism to their interests.
But the Islamists' reactionary character remained unchanged.
They had no "progressive" or "anti-imperialist" social mission because in the modern epoch that can only be an anti-capitalist fight of the working class against capitalism, and above all the Islamists are defenders of capitalism, and enemies of the working class.
The task today of the working masses in the Arab and Muslim world is to overthrow capitalism. There is no “anti-imperialism” under a bourgeois framework. Arab nationalism TODAY is a reactionary banner of the bourgeoisie.
So the Islamists could only represent a throwback of some reactionary "utopia" of a Caliphate, that combined an amalgam of a feudal-capitalist despotism. A Mahdi rebellion backwards in time. It's entirely “illogical” like the Taliban and ISIS.
Their clashes with their heretofore masters were a rallying cry for reaction not “anti-imperialism.”
Just because they entered into clashes with US imperialism did not make them "progressive" in any sense. ISIS was the equivalent of the Jim Jones death cult which also purported to create a "utopia."
History can also be irrational and "weird."
After two centuries serving as a reactionary brake on history in the Muslim world, and that had distilled the absolute worst and most backwards ideological elements into pure poison, such tendencies lead to many dark holes.
Hamas cast about for new bourgeois paymasters and adjusted their politics accordingly. Initially they supported ISIS against "evil secular" Assad in Syria, but as soon as Iran began paying the bills Hamas flipped to supporting Assad.
The Palestinians need an actual revolutionary leadership with a working class perspective.
But Hamas is entirely bourgeois and reactionary who happen to peddle "Islamism." That means without fail they will invariably lead the Palestinians to defeat after defeat as they have done for their forty year existence.
And that reactionary perspective will invariably serve the interests of the Israeli capitalists who also use a reactionary religio-nationalist ethos as the siren call for their death trap.
There is an unmistakable symmetry between Zionism and Islamism. Both are messianic frameworks of reactionary utopias to serve their respective capitalist rulers.
The Hamas October 7 attack wasn't “resistance.” It was an objective collaboration with Israel allowing the rise of the most reactionary Zionism in history.
Hamas has admitted they intended to provoke a massacre of the Palestinians, and use Palestinian blood as a bargaining chip for leverage. They stupidly underestimated the savagery of Israel.
Moreover, what does “resistance” mean? It means precisely NOT making a “revolution.” It is counterrevolutionary. It leads nowhere. Only by transcending the division between Jewish and Palestinian workers can Zionism be defeated. And that is precisely where Hamas collaborates with the Zionists to prevent that. Ben Gvir and Hamas both view the unity of Palestinians and Jews and the greatest possible danger to their respective projects. And they are right.
The same is true of Hezbollah. What is its social-political role in Lebanon? To divide and weaken the Lebanese working class, to Balkanize the working class along sectarian religious lines for the interests of one sector of the capitalist ruling class in their turf war against other sectors of the Lebanese capitalist class.
Hezbollah doesn't “resist” Israel. They hardly make a dent. They serve it as a provocation to unleash hell on Lebanon, just as Hamas does.
These outfits are the mortal enemies of the Palestinians and Lebanese working class.
Israel simply copied the playbook used by the US and European imperialists of using reactionary bourgeois Islamists as tools and against all progressive causes.
British colonialism was the first to use Isiamists but all the European imperialists did.
The CIA recruited the Muslim Brotherhood starting in 1953, first to attack the Nasser government, and against Arab nationalism, secular forces and the left.
Said Ramadan, the head of the MB, was a CIA asset and even went to the White House for a photo op with Eisenhower.
Israel doesn't need to give Hamas orders or some crazy conspiracy theory.
It's simply in the the reactionary nature of bourgeois Islamists to always oppose freedom struggles, and like mercenaries to serve one or another capitalist regimes against the working class, against liberation movements. So they served the Saudi dictators, the Iranian regime, Qatar, or whoever will pay their bills. They're businessmen.
Israel knew that Hamas would invariably sabotage and trap the Palestinians, and at the same time frighten Jews into supporting right-wing Zionists, and serve as a justification for Israeli attacks.
And boy has their investment paid off.
Hamas delivered to Israel the opportunity to inflict the greatest defeat on the Palestinians in their history. And Hamas just keeps on giving.
Yes, but I don't think that the Israelis realised who they were funding. Instead the tail was wagging the dog. I think Hamas turned into a genuine resistance movement.
Yes, but I don't think that the Israelis realised who they were funding. Instead the tail was wagging the dog. I think Hamas turned into a genuine resistance movement.
Yes, but I don't think that the Israelis realised who they were funding. Instead the tail was wagging the dog. I think Hamas turned into a genuine resistance movement.
Israel knew perfectly well that Hamas would serve their purposes, and that's why Israel supported Hamas for forty years. And reactionary bourgeois Hamas has served Israel's interests for forty years to sabotage the Palestinian struggle. Again, and again and again.
October 7 was gift to the right-wing Zionists and an absolute catastrophe for the Palestinians. Never have the Palestinians been weaker. Never has Israel been stronger. Thanks to Hamas.
That remains true to this very day as Hamas serves Israel as a pretext to continue killing Palestinians every single day.
It's not a conspiracy. It's not that Israel gives Hamas orders. They don't have to. It's simply the nature of reactionary bourgeois Islamists. It's what they are, and have always been. Tools of colonialism and imperialism. Tools of reaction.
Israel simply has to count on the reactionary reflex of Hamas to always serve Israeli interests and always sabotage the Palestinians.
Hamas, from start to finish… over forty years… has ALWAYS been: RESISTANCE to an illegal occupation… and the multitude of injustices that go with that.
ordinary, non-"warrior" men like me are cut off from criticizing US militarism, at critical junctures because bonafides are reserved for veterans. I had plenty to say, most of which was discluded from discussion for an unstated rationale that prevailed due to the blind acceptance of the notion that someone who may have killed for their country, really served it's interests, when all they really did was serve its leader's concept of its interests, which can be very wrong.
We all deserve and need the truth. Finding definitions for supposedly legitimate submissions of it, shouldn't be our business.
and on that note, what about women? only a tiny percentage get anywhere close to combat, so they're restricted to moralizing snout grevious wrong from a strictly conscribed moral perspective. We all have stake and characterizing acceptable criticism is wrong.
I agree. Your comment hit differently because I'm always aware of Zioninist sniping on social media; and, because I was already seething from an ignorant feminist comment elsewhere related to your secong point. If you want to see what I've written concerning that point about women and the military feminist complex...
have you read what you wrote. You're saying all American women are mentally ill and American men must not be, because only half are and they're not men.
What horrifies & disgusts me is the high price that decent man has had to pay for his truth telling. His moral compass is set against genocide & crimes against humanity. He is fearless & brave. Would that the political class had a fraction of the same!

Regards.
Netanyahu must be so grateful.
What a nightmare for the Palestinians.
NO, NO, NO. Izrael DID NOT create Hamas forty some years ago.
HAMAS IS LEGAL RESISTANCE❗️
to an illegal occupation.
LISTEN to this lecture, and stop relying on the FASCIST MEDIA to denigrate Hamas, and put all the power of Hamas on Izrael❗️
LISTEN TO THE SPEECH❗️

The Israeli dog wags the Hamas tail.

Hamas, from start to finish… over forty years… has ALWAYS been: RESISTANCE to an illegal occupation… and the multitude of injustices that go with that.
Can’t condemn someone for doing what I’d do if anyone did to me what the Zs did to them.
🇺🇸❤️🇵🇸.. Don’t let anyone tell ya different.
“We don’t condemn Hamas, we thank them.
We don’t condemn Hezbollah, we thank them.
We don’t condemn the Houthis, we thank them.”

ordinary, non-"warrior" men like me are cut off from criticizing US militarism, at critical junctures because bonafides are reserved for veterans.

Psychiatrist survey found 50% of Americans suffer from at least one mental illness, the other half are men.
oh! hahahahaha!
have you read what you wrote. You're saying all American women are mentally ill and American men must not be, because only half are and they're not men.
John stop being a toddler. It’s a joke.
to Sean, false dichotomies = propaganda - minus truth and reason
And that means what exactly? False Zionist doctrines or false Zionist hasbara.
GOAT. We love Dr. Norm! 🇵🇸

One must never condemn freedom fighters, no matter what a ruling body tells you to do.
Neither will I Norman!! FREE FREE Palestine!!!!!!
Professor Finkelstein stands on firm moral ground!
No wise human can or must condemn a resistant movement like Hamas.
What horrifies & disgusts me is the high price that decent man has had to pay for his truth telling. His moral compass is set against genocide & crimes against humanity. He is fearless & brave. Would that the political class had a fraction of the same!
