I have watched the complete interview on YouTube. I have the utmost respect and admiration for Professor Norman Finkelstein. His opinions go absolutely with my views on the matter. Thank you.

Norman, have you looked at Michael Collins Piper’s book “Final Judgment ” re the Kennedy assassination? I haven’t yet but it appears to be credible, well researched and places Israel at the center of that crime.

On this matter go follow Wally Rashid he does some brilliant investigative work on this

Generally a good idea to read books before claiming they are credible and well researched. Especially when you're discussing a topic littered with conspiracy theories.

Ron Orovitz's avatar

I have read it, and will say it is credible, adding the caveat that Piper doesn't argue that Israel was the only player, but symbiotic with many interests wanting Kennedy dead. Israel's motivation was largely due to Kennedy's efforts to prevent its nuclear weapons program... Which, as we can see in hindsight, he was very right about.

Why are you sharing these? It relates to my comment?

Regarding the JFK assassination, all roads lead to Israel.

If you haven’t read the book how can you reliably say anything about it?

THOUGHTS ON NORMAN

“When you see the atrocities daily visited…”

I’ve watched Norman say this so many, many, many times…

Every time he says this my throat clenches and I can feel the tears trying to escape my eyes…

Let me just remind the world…because it too has been sleeping for over 78 years…

The United States has vetoed the global order into the bloody rebellion of October 7th 2023

We are all just now viewing the complicity of nations…

Stripped before our eyes… naked in their shame…

The children…The children…The children…

No detergent has been discovered that will wash the crime of Genocide from these blood stained hands…

Love & Gratitude Norm & PJ

Read the book…get real…never cede…resist

I can't help but feel that until we abandon the left/right dichotomy, problems won't get solved, and participants in the political become tools and pawns in games of others. Adding a caveat about the mistakes, and crimes, of the left, doesn't help move the conversation forward. Likewise, limiting participants like Tucker to being defined as right wing, and consequently pigeonholing political positions in a historical context, limits the range of what is potentially possible in the future. America First by default has supremacist undertones insofar as America is held up to be the sole Hegemon, while differently in a multipolar ordering it is no more supremacist than China First or India First. Undermining intent by alluding to imperfections because of historical predeterminism leaves those speaking, and all of us, trapped into our pasts. Slogans like the 8-hour workweek are historical artifacts, and serve to shackle and reduce humans into a default reality subservient to economic activity. As a species we won't evolve so long as we cannot reconsider the fictional notion of historical progress. Marxist analysis has many merits, but it's still embedded in a relational praxis with capitalism (although what passes as capitalism today is a far cry from pre-20th century capitalism). While leftists have been making busy writing in journals and virtue signaling their credentials at champagne happenings since the 60s, elites have taken over, haven't you noticed? Moreover, limiting the Palestinian cause to being only noble if in the purview of the Left, because of the historical anti colonial struggle and relations between oppressor and oppressed, condemns the Palestinians to be prisoners of far removed political ideological debates by Westerners. Antisemitism can thus be used as a bludgeon onto both the left and the right pigeonholed simulated identities through which criticism is silenced. Israel as a State could not survive without support from the USA and Europe, and here we can't be just humans having an honest conversation, but must be reduced to wearing old clothes signaling belonging to a dominant political dichotomy.

💯 time to bury the LvR dichotomy which has always been used to divide and rule.

Not sure what Norman's point about the right wing is really. Republicans abolished slavery and were the force behind civil rights reform. They only changed in the sixties and even lately the loudest anti-war voices are in the Republican Party not the Democrats - along with America First isolationism which also back in the day was a leftist position until neoliberalism was taken up by Clinton. The 'left' should embrace all voices who support more peace and justice.

Sarah May Grunwald's avatar

It doesn't matter if that's not the reality today. The Uniparty is pro genocide and pro war.

I'm trying to work out, after 1 hour and 23 minutes, what the "sinister plot" is. I mean, it's alluded to, but that's it. Click bait. Enjoyable click bait.

Yes ... perhaps ... but imagine Carlson as president (no matter what party). How would he 'play' (after all he is usonian) the West-Asia region? That would be sinister enough to me.

Norm, you need to make the mental leap and realize it's not just Zionism that's the problem; it's the Jewish religion itself. In fact I'd argue that it's the specifically Jewish elements of Zionism (the Jewish morality of thinking of ethnic outsiders as absolutely bad if they oppose Jews), that doomed the project.

Lê Thanh Trúc's avatar

you said what every wise person secretly learns (in order to protect themselves from being exploited by them) but almost no one will say, except the likes of yourself and Fuentes. it’s why I defected from the pro-Palestine anti-war left to Fuentes & America First (not the MAGA one). a big set problems in the world would be fixed if America fully rids itself from the clutches of jewish power (or call it Zionist power if anyone is offended by this). It’s not gonna be the impotent pathetic infighting antiwar left that brings this about in the next decades — it will be AF. until then the rest of us are just watching America be Israel’s b*tch — exploiting American financial, military & geopolitical power for itself

Bingo! Actually we could do away with all god based religions and take responsibility just like mature, grown up people.

I’ve read all of your books and follow you carefully, with great respect. I listened to the interview. I could not find anything about a sinister plot behind right wing dissidence on Israel. Yes, Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Dave Smith, MTG, and Joe Rogan are not right about everything. Nobody is, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t speaking important truths by recognizing the humanity of Palestinians and by denouncing the genocide in Gaza. As a progressive, I welcome their interventions.

Given that Netanyahu‘s base in the United States is among evangelical Christians, Tucker Carlson‘s demolition of Christian Zionist ideology is one of the most important developments in my lifetime, and I am 77 years old, in American discourse about the Israel Palestine question. His interview with Mike Huckabee where Huckabee said Israel could take all of the Middle East if it wanted was something that no centrist or leftist journalist had ever accomplished.

And they have audiences of tens of millions of people. Carlson‘s pronunciation of Islamophobia before an audience estimated at 100 million people at the TPUSA in December was particularly notable.

Carlson also offered an hour and a half interview with Francesca Albanese in which he respectfully allowed her to reveal things to the American public that the legacy press has completely blocked her from. I

I don’t agree with their positions on immigration or their Christian nationalism, but Christian nationalists make up 40% of this country and if we are to break Zionism’s hold on us. It is vital that conservative Christians break with Israel.

Carlson visited Gazan children who had been maimed and mutilated by Us/rael at a treatment center in Qatar and broadcast the visit to tens of millions. Who on the left has done that?

Basil Rathbone's avatar

Why does Norman ignore some very obvious podcasters of the left like Aaron Mate, Katie Halper (who have interviewed Norman several times), Max Blumenthal, Chris Hedges, who's also interviewed him, and no doubt several others, as if they don't exist? Critics of Israel's genocide are not only represented by rightwingers like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens. There are a number of them on the left, even including Glenn Greenwald, who admittedly swings left and right depending on whatever issue he's covering. He's interviewed Norman as well, more than once.

Louvendran's avatar

He is questioning their motives.

The common thread is not ideology. It is not religion. It is not race, though race is the instrument most frequently used. The common thread is profit and control, and the willingness to kill to maintain both, and the infrastructure of lies that follows every killing.

There is absolutely zero wrong in thinking Israel killed JFK. So Norman, fuck all the way off.

Dale_Gribble's avatar

Not all the way off …but yeah he does seem to have a major blind spot there.. also citing MSM hack Medhi Hassan as remotely ‘left’ is laughable. Tucker and Candace’s supposed motives aside-facts are facts-there are far more credible and principled critiques coming from (so-called) leftist perspectives such as The Gray Zone, Due Dissidence, James Li, Jimmy Dore etc with reasoned analysis and reach.

🤔 that’s certainly informative…

but doesn’t really explain the direction of Congress …being controlled by another country, blanket censorship and discrimination in favour of certain groups, $32M being poured into the Kentucky election to tip the scales in favour of a particular candidate who happens to be a recipient of generous ‘donations’ and running against a vociferous critic of a genocidal regime- where’s that money coming from ? I mean obv it originated from US tax payers and was stolen and given to someone else to be recirculated in the form of bribery. The questionable conclusion is that the US is entirely in control of its own actions for that great master plan and the tail is not wagging the dog.

I’m sick of seeing people share those 2 rancid cunts’ bullshit like they’re allies.

Both are disgusting beasts who never gave any fucks about Palestine, Palestinians, or calling for the colony’s terrorists to be brought to justice.

Both are deeply unintelligent Chrisofash fanatics who belong in dark, squalid corners of the internet where other dumb rats in tin foil hats lurk.
